In a blatant move to avoid being called a big bunch of wooly woofters, the guys at Fnuky reckon the only reason they've been using Beauty Mate male grooming products fpr the past six months was to win the account. OK, in fairness, they did win the account, but come on... be loud, be proud we say. Get your facemask on, don your rainbow coloured t-shirts and watch Ellen. Cause as Jerry says, not that there's anything wrong with that.
All jokes aside, beating off some stiff competition (sorry, yes, another gay gag) from interstate agencies, Fnuky have managed to pick up Melbourne based client Beauty Mate. According to Fnuky General Manager Jeremy Ervine, the mens grooming range is aimed at the every day male rather than metrosexuals and the Fnuky team are excited to be working with a brand that is keen to do something different and edgy with their campaigns. Beauty Mate Founder and Director Peter Maloney was impressed with Fnuky saying they not only fall within out target audience, but their fun, fresh ideas are perfect for our brands positioning. Ex-Australian Idol contender Shannon Noll has already been signed as an ambassador for the range and a cause marketing partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is also in place.
The win tops off a productive year for the non-traditional agency who have spent a significant amount of the past twelve months educating the local market. A lot of what weve been doing during 2008 is educating the Adelaide market about digital and non-traditional advertising Ervine said. Fnukys digital workshops have proven particularly popular but Ervine stresses theyre not looking to be known as a digital agency. We dont like to pigeon hole ourselves as just digital he said. We work in a whole range of non-traditional media. Thats not to say if we think traditional media is right for a client we wont work in it. Were an agency that looks at better ideas and were media neutral so are willing to consider every single possibility available to a client.
Its an approach thats helped them land not only the Beauty Mate account, but a number of other high profile projects with Ervine describing 2009 as looking like quite an exciting year for us with a few announcements to make in January and February next year.
