Party in a bus stop

While teenagers everywhere are still sleeping off their hangovers and coming down off their chemically induced highs, it seems the guys over at Nucleus Media are enjoying an all natural high of their own. Because, despite the average weather, last weeks Schoolies was the biggest ever with the largest number of students attending the event in a single year. So youd think more kids would equal more trouble, but not so. In fact, police even reported it was the best year for driver behaviour. And thats where Nucleus come into the picture.

You see, this improved behavior was in part attributed to a unique marketing initiative developed by Encounter Youth and promoted through Nucleus Media who specialise in high impact, visually dynamic productions. For the first time ever, event organisers and stakeholders including the RAA and Motor Accident Commission set up a free bus service from Adelaide to Victor Harbor in an effort to encourage teens to leave their cars behind. Cause lets face it, its always pretty hard to remember where you parked your car when youre tanked. But all jokes aside, brilliant idea we reckon. So much so, its difficult to believe this service didnt exist earlier. Duh!

Never-the-less, the Nucleus produced party in a bus stop TVC combined with marketing to students who bought pre-event tickets ensured the service was absolutely chockas. Weve got no idea how many kids actually spewed on the bus on the way home, but we can tell you that even though it was the first year ever there wasnt an empty seat to be seen which is a damn fine effort. The TVC itself featured a cast of students form local schools PAC and Annesley, Mike and Steph who at the time were at Nova but have since called it quits, and former South Aussie Big Brother housemate Nathan Strempel. Apparently theres also a post-schoolies follow-up TVC on its way starring around 1,000 school leavers.
